Black & white film and disposable camera developing and scanning by Balkan Film Lab.

We develop all black & white film using 510 Pyro by Zone Imaging, this gives the negatives high sharpness, extreme fine grain and unrivaled long tonal range particularly in shadows and highlights. We develop all black and white film by hand in our photo lab.

Scan Resolution

We scan every negative with the latest camera-scanning and conversion technology to deliver high-quality digital files.

High-res JPEG

≈ 6 000 × 4 000 px – 15 MB

Perfect for web use, sharing, and standard-size prints.

8-bit uncompressed TIFF

≈ 6 000 × 4 000 px – 60 MB

Ideal if you plan to fine-tune your negatives yourself or are looking to create large prints.

Full-Frame Scan

We overscan each negative to capture the entire image area without cropping. This leaves a black border and an authentic full-frame look.

Turn around

We aim to keep all turnarounds under 2 working days.

Things can get a little busier during the summer rush and turnaround can sometimes go up, check the home page for current turn around times.

Our working days are Monday - Friday.
Notes

We cut 35mm negatives into strips of five and 120/medium format negatives into strips of three—let us know if you need them uncut!

We scan half-frame film as single frames by default; if you prefer two images per frame, please add a note on the cart page.

We can Push and Pull develop film, let us know how many stops on each roll.
